Sealtite 50N
is designed for horizontal applications that are subject to solvents
and fuels such as those found in road and bridge joints, parking
garages and airport runways. It has a neoprene copolymer and
can be used in vertical or horizontal applications. Sealtite
50N utilizes a cross-linked foam for high tensile strength and
excellent natural UV characteristics.

Basic Use:
Sealtite 50N is composed of polyurethane, micro-cell foam waterproofed
with a hydrophobic polymer sealing compound that
is UV stable and chemically resistant. Sealtite 50N is permanently
resilient and will expand and contract with the movement of the
joint under any weather conditions.

Typical Applications
- Horizontal movement - expansion, control, and isolation joints
- Retrofit joints/Plaza Decks
- Pre-cast concrete walls - tilt-up walls
- Interior vapor, dust, acoustical, and air control
- Secondary seal with bond breaker or specify Sealtite B
- Other types of horizontal movement joints
|
|
Advantages
- Permanently conforms to varying joint contours
- Can be used in joints up to 8" wide
\
- Ease of installation, no mess
- Excellent compression recovery, allows for up to 100% movement. (± 50%)
|
|
Unique Properties
- Resilient and flexible to -40°F (long term)
- Not based on cheap asphaltic or bitumastic impregnation
- 10 year warranty or longer by consultation with Schul
- Maintenance Free
|
|
Limitations
- Joints must be sized by measuring every 5-7 ft. (1.524 - 2.137 meters)
to ensure gap opening is uniform and depth is sufficient for the supplied material.
- Do not install when substrate or ambient temperatures are below
-14°F (-25°C) or above 95°F (35°C) without special procedures from Schul International Co., LLC
- Store material at a minimum of 68°F (20°C) for a minimum of 24 hours prior to installation,
regardless of temperature at location of installation.
- Store materials in dry, enclosed area, off the ground, out of direct sunlight.
- Do not install when raining or snowing.
- Do not unwrap material until ready for installation into joint as packaging maintains material compression.
- Do not use scrap materials
|
|
Not Intended for Joints:
- Submerged in water
- In contact with harsh chemicals
- In roofing applications
- Joints requiring pick resistance
- Cross joints in copings and projecting stone work
