Sealtite VP
is composed of polyurethane, micro-cell foam waterproofed with a
hydrophobic, flame retardant, acrylic polymer compound that is UV
stable and chemically resistant. Sealtite VP works under its own
constant internal pressure to provide a permanent, watertight seal
eliminating costly water damage. Sealtite VP is a premium
quality "breathable" joint sealant designed to withstand driving
rain to 12psf (69 mph wind) per ASTM E331 & E547.

Installation Instructions |
|
|
|
|
Typical Applications
- Vertical and horizontal movement - Expansion, control, and isolation joints
- Retrofit joints
- Pre-cast concrete walls - Tilt-up walls
- Exterior panel systems - Masonry, granite, metal, EIFS, and curtain walls
- Interior vapor, dust, acoustical, and air control
- Other joints that would benefit by a vapor permeable seal
|
|
Advantages
- Permanently conforms to varying joint contours
- Can be usd in joints up to 8" wide
- Polyester scrim in PSA resists stretching and twisting during installation
- Provides a watertight joint
- Ease of installation, no mess
- Excellent compression recovery
|
|
Unique Properties
- Resilient and flexible to -40°F (long term)
- Not based on cheap asphaltic or bitumastic impregnation
- 10 year warranty or longer by consultation with Schul
- Allows for up to 100% joint movement
- Maintenance Free
|
|
Limitations
- Joints must be sized by measuring every 5-7 ft. (1.524 - 2.137 meters)
to ensure gap opening is uniform and depth is sufficient for the supplied material.
- Do not install when substrate or ambient temperatures are below
-14°F (-25°C) or above 95°F (35°C) without special procedures from Schul International Co., LLC
- Store material at a minimum of 68°F (20°C) for a minimum of 24 hours prior to installation,
regardless of temperature at location of installation.
- Store materials in dry, enclosed area, off the ground, out of direct sunlight.
- Do not install when raining or snowing.
- Do not unwrap material until ready for installation into joint as packaging maintains material compression.
- Do not use scrap materials
|
|
Not Intended for Joints:
- Submerged in water
- In contact with harsh chemicals
- In roofing applications
- Joints requiring pick resistance
